Huda plot scam mastermind nabbed

PANCHKULA: The district police have arrested the mastermind of Haryana Urban Development Authority (Huda) plot scam from Mansa Devi Complex. The accused has been known as Mahender, a resident of MDC, Panchkula. He used to be arrested from his space.

While working on the case, a group of cops headed by way of sub-inspector Sukhwinder Singh and head constable Narender Rana had previous arrested Rishi Kumar March 6. In his remand, Kumar told cops that Mahender used to be the mastermind of the plan.

Kumar used to be held for selling a plot after forging documents through which he had made himself the landlord of the plot. The plaint in this regard used to be filed by way of estate officer (EO) Ashutosh Rajan.

As in step with the case, two plots - a one-kanal plot in Sector 8 and a 14-marla plot in Sector four - have been vacant with best 25% construction on them.

Cops said in the data of Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP), Raj Kamal Banta, a resident of Shimla, used to be the landlord of the plots. In 2008, the estate place of business received a request for correction in the identify from Raj Kamal Banta to Raj Kamal Bante, and the exchange used to be made accordingly.

Thereafter, in November 2018, Kumar claimed to be Raj Kamal Bante and applied for duplicate documents, stating that his unique documents have been lost.

"In December 2018, a 'permission to sell' was applied for by Kumar for a plot in Sector 8, which was worth Rs 5 crore. After verification, the permission to sell the plot was granted in January 2019. Later, he sold the plot to a Chandigarh-based couple," cops said.

The fraud got here to gentle remaining month, when every other utility used to be received for the issuance of duplicate documents for the second one plot. Noticing a mistake in the utility, the estate place of business issued a letter in the hunt for explanation from the applicant. The police said that the letter, in the hunt for explanation, used to be received by way of the actual proprietor at his Chandigarh residence. The applicant used to be surprised to see the letter. He approached the estate place of business and confirmed unique documents of the plot, following which the estate place of business cancelled the permissions to promote the plot in Sector 8, which it had previous approved.
