Guwahati: Shree Shyam Jayanti Mahostav from March 16


GUWAHATI: Shree Shyam Satsang Mandal will rejoice the golden jubilee of Shree Shyam Jayanti Mahostav (fagun utsav) of Lord Krishna for 3 days, ranging from March 16. The celebrations shall be held at Sadhana Mandir near Railway Gate No four at Fancy Bazar right here within the city.


The organizers - Ramavtar Sharma, Harigopal Agrawal, Binay Kumar Kasera, Vicky Agarwal and Dipak Bidasaria - mentioned that the outlet rite shall be held on the 'utsav stal' at 10.30am on Saturday. It shall be followed through recital of Shree Shyam Akand Jyoti from 2.30pm, and then there shall be a are living ballet efficiency through famend artist, Shiv Kumar Jalan from Kolkata.


The celebrations on Sunday will get started at 8am with pujan and chanting of vedic mantra. The afternoon programme will get started from 2.30pm with arti and kirtan. In the night, there shall be bhajan and ballet through Devendra Bengani and performers from Kolkata.


On Monday, which would be the ultimate day of the celebrations, the programme will begin with 'Mahaarti', the lighting of the eternal hearth, at 5am. It will followed through bhajan through various local artistes and distribution of 'maha prasadam' and 'Amrit Bhandara' from 12.30pm. The grand procession of Lord Krishna will get started at 5pm, which can have 'jhankis' with horny glimpse of other folks dressed up as various incarnations of God. The procession will get started from MS Road, the organizers mentioned.
