MUMBAI: A former Shiv Sena corporator from the town has been arrested for allegedly duping a policeman and a number of other others at the false promise of providing homes to them, a senior police official mentioned Friday.
According to official, complainant Sakharam Sawant (58), who retired as an assistant sub-inspector, used to be in search of an lodging in Marol area of suburban Andheri in 2006.

At that time, Sawant's buddy presented him to Vishnu Koregaonkar, who used to be the corporator of the world. He promised to offer a house to Sawant at Rs 6.50 lakh, the official mentioned.
