Dowry death case: Husband, father-in-law held in Chandigarh

CHANDIGARH: A day after a 25-year-old lady allegedly committed suicide at her area in Sector 46, police on Saturday arrested her husband and her sweetheart's father in a dowry loss of life case.

Reeta Yadav was allegedly discovered placing from a ceiling fan. Her in-laws took her to Government Medical College and Hospital, Sector 32, the place medical doctors declared her brought useless. She had married Sandeep Yadav, who works in a store, in March remaining year. The 2nd accused is Shri Ram Yadav, a Panjab University worker. Police had booked sufferer’s partner's mother Kalawati, sister-in-law Anita and brother-in-law Vikas too. All 3 are on the run. In the period in-between, police passed over the body of Reeta to her family members after carrying out post-mortem.

On March eight, police had arrested Ajay Duggal, a resident of Manimajra, for allegedly forcing his wife to commit suicide on March 3. The sufferer’s family members alleged he was harassing his wife for bringing extra dowry.
