‘Congress to fight polls in UP on own strength’


NEW DELHI: Amid unceasing experiences about its “coming near near” electoral pact with SP-BSP, Congress on Saturday stated it would contest the 2019 elections in Uttar Pradesh “by itself energy” and that it respects the decision of the two regional parties to not accommodate it in the alliance.

AICC basic secretary Jyotiraditya Scindia instructed newshounds, “The current situation is that SP and BSP have taken a choice that they wish to stroll on a distinct trail with the similar goal that the Congress has. Our paths may also be other, but the goal is the same.”


“We have stated time and again that our goal is the same that UPA executive must be formed at the Centre. In UP, Congress is going to combat this election by itself energy. We imagine that be it BSP or SP, they have got taken a choice and we admire that decision. They have the appropriate to choose their trail,” he added.


The remarks from the AICC manager in-charge of western UP are significant as speculation about alliance have no longer stopped in spite of repeated denials from Samajwadi Party.


While ruling out alliance in UP, Scindia did say that there were negotiations between parties which did not figure out.


He took as a left-handed statement SP chief Akhilesh Yadav’s contemporary statement that Congress was once part of the alliance and it were given Amethi and Rae Bareli. “If that is his pondering, then we may additionally leave 2-Three seats for them,” Scindia retorted.
