23-year-old loses Rs 31,000 in online fraud


PUNE: A man used to be booked on Friday for allegedly cheating a 23-year-old early life from Ghorpade Peth to the music of Rs31,000 via promising to sell puppies to him.

The cheating incident befell in December remaining yr.

The man realized he had been cheated after he waited for two months and didn't receive the puppies. He then approached the police to hotel a grievance in opposition to the culprit.

An officer from the Khadak police mentioned the complainant, Omkar Kishor Dhole, loves dogs and sought after a labrador dog breed for himself.

Dhole appeared on-line for the breed. He came throughout an commercial on an e-commerce site. The advertiser on the site stated he sought after to sell five puppies collectively price Rs31,000.


The commercial also had photos of the puppies. Trusting the content, Dholi contacted the quantity discussed on the site.


However, the man who posed as the owner of the puppies, requested Dhole to deposit the cash in his account first. As directed, Dhole deposited the cash.


But after receiving the cash, the man switched off the cell phone.


Dhole again and again tried to establish contact with the man. The Khadak police booked the suspect underneath the Information Technology Act and segment 420 (Cheating and dishonestly inducing supply of property) of the Indian Penal Code.
