Woman attacked for selling beef

HASSAN: Activists of a right wing organization allegedly attacked a 50-year-old girl on suspicion that she was selling beef available in the market in Sakleshpur the town.

Shameem, the sufferer, has a brief food stall in APMC marketplace in Premnagar. She is a resident of Sakleshpur the town.

On January 31, around 3.30pm while she was carrying out her business, activists arrived at her stall and abused her and family accusing them of selling beef.

The girl, her sister-in-law Kamarunnis and minor daughter have been manhandled. Police stated an investigation is on.

Nagaraj Hettur, social activist, on Tuesday requested Hassan police to take felony motion towards the attackers.
