Wild elephant damages bonnet, windshield of car


Coimbatore: A wild elephant damaged the bonnet and windshield of a automotive while crossing Annaikatti-Coimbatore Road at the outskirts of town on Tuesday night time.
G Selvaraj, 55, of Mettupalayam, used to be returning to Coimbatore from Mannarkad in Kerala in his automotive on Tuesday.

When he reached Thomanur Pirivu round 9.15pm, he spotted a wild elephant crossing the street.


A wooded area officer said, “Subsequently, Selvaraj stopped the auto and waited for the elephant to go the street. Disturbed by way of the headlight and noise of the auto’s engine, the elephant came in opposition to the auto and damaged the bonnet and windshield of the automobile with its trunk.”


As soon because the elephant moved into the wooded area a couple of mins later, Slevaraj deserted his automotive and ran in opposition to, Anaikatti, where he controlled to get a boost in a van and reached his house in Mettupalayam, the officer said.


On Wednesday morning, Selvaraj’s son came to the spot and drove the auto to Mettupalayam.
