Timely intervention of police averts moral policing incident in Ullal

Mangaluru: The timely intervention of the Mangaluru City police in Ullal limits, averted a possible case of moral policing after three adolescence from the minority community and a woman went to a hookah bar on Saturday night time.

According to police, the 3 adolescence and the lady had come to a hookah joint in Kuthar at Ullal on Saturday. All of them are engineering scholars. Upon learning a couple of woman smoking hookah with boys from the minority community, some activists of a right-wing workforce alerted the police and asked them to question the students. Many right-wing activists then descended upon the hookah joint.

Police staff of Ullal station, who learnt about this, feared that a communal flare up could occur, and rushed to the spot. They wondered the students and asked them to leave where.

According to police and health department, the hookah joint used to be served a notice as they found that they have been in violation of the rules. Sources advised NewsTread that the original owner had leased out where to someone else on Saturday.

Police added that they've warned the management to not flout norms sooner or later.
