BENGALURU: In the wake of growing visitors congestion and poor coordination among various transport modes, leader minister HD Kumaraswamy has introduced a complete mobility scheme for Bengaluru.

Kumaraswamy said Rs 50 crore has been allotted for implementation of a complete mobility scheme within the city. “The vital facet of the mobility scheme is to cut back movement of personal cars through targeting public transport. The aim is to facilitate movement for short distances thru walking and cycling,” he said on Friday.

“A grant can be provided to the BMTC within the subsequent 12 months to increase the number of buses. Footpaths coming inside of 50km radius of the city can be evolved at a value of Rs 50 crore,” he said.

A feasibility study can be initiated for multi modal transport hubs at Hebbal, Byappannahalli, Ok R Puram, Kadugodi, Challaghatta and Peenya. It also seeks to reinforce seamless inter-modal integration for Bengaluru Metro, Rail and Bus terminuses positioned at Yeshwanthpur, Banashankari, Vijayanagar and Peenya.
