Suspended law officer of police in net for graft


PUNE: State Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) workforce arrested a suspended regulation officer of the Pune rural police and someone else for allegedly accepting Rs10 lakh as bribe from a person close to the General Post Office on Tuesday night time.


The rural police had initiated court cases in opposition to the man underneath the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA). The suspended regulation officer, Chandrakant Kamble, had demanded the cash as bribe to put up a favourable report.


Officials said a person approached the ACB on Tuesday, announcing Kamble had demanded Rs10 lakh to put up a favourable report associated with his employer in opposition to whom the police had initiated the MCOCA court cases.


Kamble instructed the man that he was nonetheless serving the agricultural police and may just manipulate reviews. An ACB group, led by means of superintendent of police Sandeep Diwan and further SP Suhas Nadgouda caught Kamble and Shashikant Jaypraskash Rao (50).


The ACB additionally arrested a Marunji resident, Bhalchandra Sandeepan Kanade (38), for accepting a bribe of Rs2,600 from a public provider automobile driving force to allow him transport passengers within the Hinjewadi-Wakad area.
