Seer donates mother’s body in Karnataka


HUBBALLI: Normally, Lingayats bury the our bodies of their lifeless oldsters and construct a samadhi. But Mahantesh Devaru, seer of Sharana Kutir, Rabakavi-Banahatti, selected to donate the frame of his mom Kamalavva Shivappa Telasang, 80, to the Koppal Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) which needs our bodies for study and research.

Though Kamalavva died on January 22, the day after Shivakumara Swami of Siddaganga Mutt in Tumakuru passed on to the great beyond, her frame used to be donated to KIMS on February five after it had been preserved on the Sri Gangadhar Viraktamath (SGV) Ayurveda College in Bailhongal.

Devaru stated his determination is in keeping with Basavanna’s teachings. “We have been scholars of Mahant Math in Ilkal, which has been famous for innovative resolutions. Before taking this determination, we mentioned with Guru Mahant Swamiji of Ilkal and Murugha Sharanaru of Chitradurga, who prolonged their improve. We’re proud that her frame is getting used for the welfare of mankind,” he stated.


Dr Mahantesh Ramannavar, secretary, Dr Ramannavar Charitable Trust, Bailhongal, who's developing consciousness about frame donation, stated the Swamiji is open-minded about studying and adopting new things. “After his donation, 30 other folks from Banhatti pledged their our bodies and hundreds have expressed their pastime to take action soon,” he stated.


Balachandra Shetty, Irappanna Bargad, Shashikant Mahajan, Narendra Chinchur, Kalavathi Bhadrannavar, Dhanyakumar Bhadrannavar — devotees of Banhatti Math — stated they registered to donate their our bodies and really feel proud that they’ll be useful to society even after death.


Dr Channabasanagouda Patil, head of the dept of anatomy, KIMS, Koppal, stated as in step with Medical Council of India’s norms, KIMS needs 10 our bodies but it has best five.
