Seat-sharing arrangements in GA likely by next wk

PATNA: The Grand Alliance (GA) in Bihar is more likely to finalize seat-sharing arrangements for the approaching Lok Sabha election by way of the 3rd week of this month.

While NDA has already announced 17 seats every for BJP and JD (U) besides six for Ram Vilas Paswan-led LJP, deliberations on seat-sharing in the GA have been saved pending for the Congress rally in Patna on February three.

Congress has now claimed that the seat-sharing method in GA will likely be finalized by way of 3rd week of this month. “All the Congress state presidents and legislative birthday celebration leaders from across the nation met in New Delhi on February nine. We mentioned the birthday celebration strategy for the approaching Lok Sabha election. RJD chief Lalu Prasad’s more youthful son Tejashwi Prasad Yadav was also busy in his ‘Berozgari hatao aarakshsan badhao yatra’,” Bihar Congress president Madan Mohan Jha advised TOI.

“Talks on seat-sharing will start next week once senior leaders of each the parties are to be had. The method some of the companions could be finalized by way of the 3rd week of this month,” he added.

RJD national vice-president Shivanand Tiwari although avoided making any comments on the tentative time period to announce any method, he mentioned the GA companions would together announce the choice of seats to contest. “Talks are already on and we will be able to quickly finalize seats and parliamentary constituencies to contest,” Tiwari mentioned.

Reaching consensus on seats, then again, does now not appear to be a very simple process although with Rahul making it loud and clear in his rally that “Congress will play from the front foot” and Tejashwi making an enchantment from the same dais to Congress to take along all allies while main from the front.

Most equations at the moment point out larger proportion for the RJD. As according to one method doing the rounds, Congress is eyeing 12 seats while leaving 15 for RJD, 3 for Sharad Yadav-led Loktantrik Janata Dal and 5 seats for Upendra Kushwaha-led RLSP. Former CM Jitan Ram Manjhi-led Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) and Vikassheel Insaan Party of Mukesh Sahni gets one seat every while the remainder 3 of the 40 Lok Sabha seats will pass to the Left parties to contest.

The new GA companions like Kushwaha and Sahni, except for HAM(S), can even put force on large brothers RJD and Congress to make “sacrifices” and accommodate them more.

The Left parties — CPI (ML), CPI and CPI(M) — aren't part of the GA, formally, but assets mentioned they also search respectful choice of seats to contest against the NDA in Bihar. Sources mentioned CPI (ML) and CPI intend to contest six seats every, while CPM needs one seat.

As according to any other method, RJD intends to contest 20 seats while giving 10 to Congress and distributing the remainder 10 amongst other allies and the Left parties.
