Search engine bait used to hoodwink eatery owner


GURUGRAM: A Sushant Lok 2 resident used to be allegedly cheated of around Rs 50,000 at the pretext of registering her restaurant and striking the main points at the website online of a seek engine. On Friday, Ashna Gandhi instructed police that around per week ago, she known as at the mobile quantity which she were given from the website online of the search services and products corporate.
“The person who received my call instructed me that I have to pay Rs 200 for registration and gave me a link—www.rbipaymentclaim.in — to pay the amount both by debit or bank card,” the girl defined in her criticism.

“Later, I paid Rs 200 via my Axis Bank bank card but to my surprise, Rs 48,596 were given deducted and transferred to an account with the title of Digital Gold India. I in an instant known as up the buyer care of the bank and requested them to cancel the transaction request but they didn't lend a hand me. When I contacted the person to whom I transferred the amount, he stated that he didn't receive any amount including that the account of Digital Gold India corporate didn't belong to them. Finally, I realised that I was duped,” Gandhi added .


The complainant also handed over the 2 mobile numbers on which she contacted the caller.


Police have put the numbers on surveillance to nab the accused. An FIR has been registered in opposition to the accused beneath IPC Section 420 (dishonest) and Section 66 C of the Information Technology Act at Sector 56 police station.


“We are investigating the case from angles and trying to establish the accused the usage of the mobile numbers. He can be arrested quickly,” stated Pradeep Kumar, the SHO of Sector 56 police station.
