Rumours over power cut at HDMC office

Hubballi: Routine works at Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation’s central place of business on Lamington Road were hampered on Tuesday as there was once no power supply for a very long time.
HDMC group of workers who got here to work on Tuesday morning idea there was once no power supply due to some repairs and were expecting supply to resume soon. When there was once no power for a number of hours, they then enquired with Hescom officers, handiest to be told that power supply was once disconnected due to non-payment of electricity bill. It is claimed that some HDMC group of workers remained within the place of business until afternoon doing nothing and some sections worked the usage of power from a generator.

Sources said HDMC commissioner C W Shakeel Ahmad, who was once in Delhi to attend a meeting on the Smart City challenge, was once informed about the problem and then he asked Hescom to restore power supply.

Ahmad advised NewsTread that power supply was once disrupted for a temporary length as there was once some confusion regarding price of electricity bill. “Actually the bill will get deducted directly from the state finance fee’s electricity fund. I believe it was once a minor confusion between HDMC and HESCOM and it was once resolved. I don’t know the exact amount of the bill however I will be able to look into it when I succeed in Hubballi,” he said.

Didn’t disconnect power: Hescom official

A H Kamble, govt engineer of HESCOM Hubballi division has other version to offer. He said they did not forestall power supply to the HDMC place of business and that there was once a disruption in supply due to some repairs work. “It is not true that Hescom stopped power supply on account of non-payment of bill. It was once stopped for emergency repairs work. The supply was once restored after the work was once finished,” he said.
