Rangayana to stage 2 plays


Dharwad: The Dharwad Rangayana, which is making new experiments in theatre, will present a play based on the Russian novel Akaki Kotu on its premises on February 15 and 16. The display will start at 7.30pm on both days.

Dharwad Rangayana director Pramod Shiggoan stated that the play is being enacted in memory of noted theatre character overdue Enagi Nataraj, who used to be the director of Dharwad Rangayana. It also coincides with the valedictory of a 25-day residential theatre coaching programme.


Theatre director P Gangadhar Swamy and Enagi Laxmibai would be the chief visitors at the programme. Vishweshwari Hiremath, camp director Chennakeshava and Sanjiv Kulkarni would be the different visitors. The play Sri Rama Paduka Pattabhishekha, directed by means of Prakash Garud can be staged from 6.30pm at its open-air theatre on February 21 and 22 .


Pramod stated that Rangayana had for the first time carried out a unique coaching camp for 25 days through which 25 artistes were educated in more than a few sides of theatre.
