Protests erupt in state after action against SP president


Allahabad/Varanasi/Gorakhpur: Hundreds of Samajwadi Party (SP) staff went on a rampage across several parts of the state on Tuesday after celebration president Akhilesh Yadav was avoided in Lucknow from boarding a airplane to Allahabad to wait a function organised by way of the Allahabad University Students Union (AUSU).

In Allahabad, around a dozen SP staff, together with celebration MP from Badaun, Dharmendra Yadav, leaders of the district unit, scholar leaders and about half-a-dozen safety personnel were injured when the police used drive to disperse them at Balson Crossing.
