Plan to cut tree outside Salman bldg slammed

MUMBAI: Green activists have objected to the BMC’s proposal to chop the solitary tree out of doors a commercial construction owned by actor Salman Khan on Linking Road, Khar, pronouncing it will have to not be “killed” only for a better view of the construction.

Khar activist Anandini Thakoor mentioned, “Why do they wish to reduce the tree when it does not impede both vehicular or pedestrian motion? We are in favour of defending bushes.”

BMC officers mentioned though the tree were on the footpath for years before the construction was built and occupation permissions have been issued, first of all the owner did realize that it will impede vehicular motion right through emergencies.

BMC officers mentioned the owner had approached them a couple of months ago to seek permission to get the tree reduce and that they had authorized his request.
