Patients’ kin thrash doctors


Kanpur: The emergency products and services at Tirwa Medical College in Kannauj remained paralysed for almost 3 hours as relatives of a affected person allegedly manhandled doctors on accountability on Thursday night.
Some doctors said relative of an elderly affected person from Sakhauli village beat up a physician for different reasons and the security body of workers were also roughed up. As per the complaint, the relative of the affected person was once in an inebriated state.

Scores of doctors assembled on the hospital premises and chased away the affected person’s relative and his aides. Later, the same particular person returned with ratings of villagers, who were armed with lathis and sticks. They barged into the emergency segment and seriously beat up the doctors and different paramedical team of workers on accountability.


Police assist was once sought following which a team from Kotwali police station arrived at the hospital, however the rowdy villagers did not even spare them. They hurled stones and bricks on police body of workers, injuring Inspetor Kotwali Amod Kumar.


The emergency products and services were disrupted for almost 3 hours because the doctors refused to do paintings. The doctors ended the strike after assurance of strict action in opposition to the hooligans and higher safety at the hospital.


“Nearly 16 other folks have been arrested and a case in opposition to 30 others has been lodged and investigations are underway,” said circle officer (CO) Subodh Kumar Jaiswal.
