P V Bharathi is the new MD and CEO of Corporation Bank

Mangaluru: P V Bharathi, a banker with 37 years of revel in on Friday took charge as the managing director and CEO of city-based Corporation Bank. She is the first lady to move the financial institution in this capacity.

A put up graduate in arts (economics), Bharathi, a Certified Associate of Indian Institute of Bankers, who has achieved an integrated route on banking and finance from NIBM, Pune was once the manager director of Canara Bank previous to her current assignment.

At Canara Bank as ED since September 15, 2016, she was once accountable for many key spaces including human sources, corporate credit, retail banking, credit tracking, recovery, risk management, data and technology, audit and inspection, international banking, treasury and others. She has treated key obligations in branches, regional places of work, circle places of work and head office, overlaying a limiteless spectrum of banking operations.

She joined the banking trade as an officer in 1982 in Canara Bank and served in more than a few capacities in branches and administrative places of work of the Bank throughout India and Hong Kong. As GM, she was once chief risk officer of Canara Bank. She has held more than a few necessary positions in her profession. She was once Canara Bank’s nominated member on the IBA’s running workforce for standardization of procedure for empanelment of valuers by Banks.

The government has appointed her as Scheduled Commercial Banks’ nominee director on the board of India Infrastructure Finance Company Limited. Known in the trade for her result orientated and practical approach, teamwork and fast choices, she has passed through many coaching programmes at prestigious institutes inside and out of doors. She is an eminent speaker and has received accolades at more than a few seminars, meetings and panel discussions.
