Odisha: BJP starts Jan Adalat programmes

BHUBANESWAR: Making alleged corruptions all through the BJD govt a big ballot plank, the BJP on Monday introduced a ‘Jan Adalat (people’s court)’ marketing campaign where people have been inspired to spotlight corruption at different levels of governance.

BJP state vice-president Sameer Mohanty said on the inaugural day ‘Jan Adalats’ have been organised in Berhampur, Puri and Kalahandi Lok Sabha seats. Similar adalats shall be organised in all 21 Lok Sabha seats by way of February 17, he said.

The BJP is striking a “dummy pass judgement on” to listen to the grievances and administer pledges to people to remove the incumbent Naveen govt and convey a corruption-free BJP govt.

The party’s anti-corruption marketing campaign comes in the wake of Prime Minister Narendra Modi focused on chief minister Naveen Patnaik for the ongoing ‘PC tradition’ (reference to the rampant device of presidency functionaries charging a share of fee) all through the Khurda meet on December 24 ultimate year.

BJD spokesperson Samir Ranjan Dash said the BJP move would cut no ice with the people. “Prime Minister Narendra Modi needs to respond to people on what promises he made in 2014 and what he did and the corruptions in his govt. The BJD is in the technique of gratifying most of the promises it made in the 2014 manifesto and runs an excessively transparent govt,” Dash said.

The BJP’s ‘Jan Adalats’ shall be interspersed with collection of rallies by way of senior BJP leaders. Party president Amit Shah is scheduled to handle a public assembly at Sambalpur on February 15.

Union house minister Rajnath Singh will cope with a rally in Bhadrak on February 17. Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath is scheduled to handle two public conferences in Khurda and Kalahandi districts on February 20.
