Noida hospital fire: Doctors, nurses and ward boys were the first rescuers


NOIDA: As the fire brigade arrived at least 30 minutes after the blaze began, it used to be the Metro medical institution workforce who replied first. And the rescuers too got injured as they have been forced to damage glass windows of the medical institution construction.

While two medical institution staffers suffered injuries, six hearth division officials, also faced suffocation, the fire division stated.

Vinit Kumar, in-charge of house-keeping who led the rescue operation, suffered severe cuts in each his arms whilst breaking glass windows. Many docs, nurses and ward boys also joined the rescue operation. Several folks needed to be taken out throughout the broken windows, with several safety team of workers struggling minor injuries as well.

“Panic struck the medical institution as the fire and smoke began to spread. We had to destroy the window panes to convey out the ones trapped within the hearth,” stated Kumar.


“I was on a spherical when the fire broke out. We led the patients to the lower floor, the usage of the staircase. There have been around eight patients on the fourth floor, five patients on the third floor. We evacuated them one at a time. We took them to the ICU but there too, the smoke had spread. They have been shifted to two other hospitals,” he added.


Chief hearth officer AK Singh stated hearth protection officer I Kuldeep Kumar and a few firemen too had gotten suffocated because of the smoke.


“They have been hospitalised within the Metro multi-speciality medical institution and discharged soon after,” he stated.
