Naidu announces Rs 4,000 addl dole for farmers

AMARAVATI: In some other major pre-poll sop, the Andhra Pradesh executive here on Wednesday introduced annual financial assistance of Rs 4,000 to each farmer within the state.

The cabinet assembly, chaired by means of chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, licensed the brand new scheme 'Annadata Sukhibhava', underneath which the state executive will give Rs 4,000 assistance along with Rs 6,000 introduced by means of the Centre in the interim budget earlier this month.

Farmers having greater than five acres of land and now not eligible underneath the Centre's scheme will get Rs 10,000 once a year, he said.

The tenant farmers can even get the good thing about the scheme, said agriculture minister S Chandramohan Reddy. The scheme would benefit 54 lakh farmers, he added.

In the period in-between budget offered in Assembly ultimate week, the government allotted Rs 5,000 crore for the scheme.

The minister said cash will be deposited within the farmers' bank accounts by means of the end of February. It will include Rs 2,000 given by means of the central executive.
