Most mobile PUC centres fleece vehicle owners

HYDERABAD: With expanding selection of vehicles in the city, there may be a rise in selection of mobile emission trying out centres running with out licences and charging exorbitant prices.

Owners have to get their vehicles examined for emissions each six months. However, the charges for issuing Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate vary from one mobile emission trying out centre to any other.

N Ananth Kumar, a cab driver, stated: “There is no emission centre that complies with charges prescribed by RTA. They rate no matter they prefer, and I doubt if the pollution certificate we is a real one. There are several vehicles which can be PUC qualified but are observed emitting black smoke that can nearly blind you.”

As in keeping with RTA laws, two wheeler cannot be charged more than Rs 35 and four-wheeler’s cannot be charged over Rs 50. However, a consult with to any of these mobile emission trying out centres proves that rates are nearly 3 times the prescribed price, and vary from one centre to any other.

To make issues worse, most such mobile devices are running and not using a licence, RTA activists stated.

M Dayanand, basic secretary, Telangana Auto and Motor Welfare Union, stated, “If RTA provides licence for one emission trying out unit at a specific location, the licence holder is putting in no less than 5 to 10 vehicles illegally at different places around the city. The RTA must have a device that hyperlinks each unmarried mobile trying out unit to a first-rate centre to curb irregularities.”

An attempt to take a look at the units installed inside mobile trying out devices printed that some weren't even running correctly, and operators were hesitant to show their licences. To curb this problem, the Telangana Road Transport Authority officials have knowledgeable that they will quickly have their very own pollution trying out centres in any respect its workplaces throughout Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts.

Sunil Sharma, most important secretary (transport), stated, “Pollution trying out devices might be opened in all 11 RTA workplaces in each the districts. With this, the issue of mobile emission trying out vehicles which can be parked on roads and obstructing site visitors might be lowered. We are planning to set up those centres best at RTA centers and petrol pumps were they are simply available. With this, the issue of centres with out licenses will come down regularly.”
