Maoist leader, wife surrender before T'gana cops

HYDERABAD: A Maoist leader from Jharkhand, who had Rs 1.25 crore prize money on his head, surrendered ahead of Telangana police on Monday. Oggu Burial Satwaji alias Sudhakar, firstly from Nirmal district in Telangana, used to be a member of the outlawed Communist Party of India (Maoists) and also a member of the highest decisionmaking body, the Central Committee. His spouse Madhavi too surrendered with him.

Sudhakar used to be a key member of the Central Military Commission, which deliberate and executed violent strikes towards the federal government. For the remaining 4 years, he used to be the in charge of Jharkhand and has been accused of being involved in a number of violent acts in recent years. Besides the Rs 1 crore prize money announced by way of Jharkhand, the Telangana govt had put Rs 25 lakh on his head.

In 2017, Jharkhand police had arrested Sudhakar’s brother, B Narayan, and alleged that he had come there to assemble money and gold from Sudhakar’s affiliate. At the time, the law enforcement officials had alleged that Sudhakar used to be amassing huge amounts of wealth and passing it directly to his circle of relatives in Nirmal.

The Maoist leader’s mother and other relatives reside in Sarangapur village in Nirmal. According to law enforcement officials, it used to be in 1982 that Sudhakar used to be drawn to the Maoist motion and had transform an underground cadre of then People’s War Group (PWG).

Officials say they are in the technique of compiling an inventory of circumstances pending towards Sudhakar and his spouse in more than a few states. National Investigation Agency too has taken up some circumstances towards him. Sudhakar operated in Telangana in the initial years and later moved to Chhattisgarh. We will announce the surrender in a few days. He is part of the Bihar-Jharkhand Area Committee, Eastern Regional Bureau and associated with the celebration for 35 years.”

In the remaining one and part years, Sudhakar is the second one Central Committee member to surrender ahead of Telangana police. In December 2017, Jinugu Narasimha Reddy had surrendered ahead of the police.
