Man tries to break into farmer's house, lynched


VELLORE: A bunch of villagers lynched a 37-year-old man hailing from Assam who allegedly tried to wreck into a farmer’s area at Kosavanpudhur in Vellore district of Tamil Nadu in the early hours of Tuesday.
The deceased has been known as Gunjanan Gharpalia of Cherekapar village in Sivasagar district of Assam. He and any other man allegedly tried to wreck into the home of Kalanathan, 60.

A senior police officer mentioned Kalanathan heard a knock at the door around 2.30am. He fairly opened the door to look who used to be knocking at the door. Soon two men allegedly tried to go into the home through pushing the door. However, the farmer managed to close the door.


Kalanathan alerted his relations over phone. The relations, who are living in the village, rushed to the spot and caught grasp of one of the two men. They tied him to a neem tree and beat him to demise. Later, Kalanathan and others threw the body into an deserted neatly near the village.


The Okay V Kuppam police came to grasp about the incident around 9am. A police crew, headed through DSP Sachidhanandham and Okay V Kuppam inspector Kavitha, rushed to the village, retrieved the body from the neatly and sent to it to Gudiyatham Government Hospital for postmortem.


The police detained five other people including Kalanathan.
