Man enters NICMAR hostel, fires in air

PUNE: A 23-year-old unemployed engineering graduate stormed into the ladies’s hostel development at the NICMAR campus at Balewadi on Tuesday morning after trying to gun down a security guard and fired within the air in front of a fifth-floor room to terrorise a lady inmate who used to be allegedly ignoring his calls.

The man, Suraj Mahendrakumar Soni, later jumped from the fifth surface of the NICMAR (National Institute of Construction Management and Research) hostel and fractured his hip bone and decrease limbs, police stated.

The police have booked soni under various sections of the IPC and invoked relevant provisions of the Indian Arms Act towards him
