Mall theft: Guard arrested, Rs 68.07L recovered

PATNA: Police on Tuesday evening arrested a personal safety guard from Goria Toli beneath Kotwali police station space in city and recovered Rs 68.07 lakh out of Rs 69.98 lakh stolen from a famous mall located on the heart of the town on Fraser Road on the intervening evening of January 27 and January 28. Sah was once deployed on the mall for safety goal.

Altogether Rs 69,98,462 was once stolen from an iron secure saved on the fourth ground of the mall. CCTV digicam footages inside the mall confirmed a suspect going within washroom on mall’s flooring ground at 10.56pm and coming out of it at 1.56am and went as much as the locker and opened it with keys saved there and fled with the money from front front.

Patna SSP Garima Malik stated that on Sah’s confessional remark, a police team was once despatched to his native village at Aurai in Muzaffarpur from the place Rs 68,07,688 was once recovered.

Malik stated that the money, after wrapping it in polythene sheet, was once saved within a plastic jar and was once hidden below earth by means of Sah which was once dug out on his indication after arrest.

She stated Sah had chosen the place below haystack within a livestock shed simply beside his place of dwelling to hide the stolen money.

“Altogether Rs 1,90,774 was once but to be recovered. Police strongly suspects that different guards or private employees on the mall had connived with Sah within the robbery,” she stated.

SSP Malik stated Sah was once traced with help of technical investigation as well as with the assistance of sketch which was once prepared on basis of the bodily look and partially visual face of suspect in CCTV cameras installed inside the mall.

She stated that the incident clearly indicates fast requirement of safety audit by means of firms who are taking service of such private guards and companies who hire and educate them.
