Knocked down by jeep, miraculous escape for two


MANGALURU: A 25-year-old lady and her toddler had a miraculous escape after they had been hit through a jeep. Fortunately, the mum and child escaped with minor injuries. The incident took place under the Uppinangadi police station limits and has been captured on CCTV.
The lady is Chandralatha and her son is two-year-old Ritwij.

According to police, the jeep that knocked down the lady belongs to a catering firm, which also runs a restaurant named Tiffin Room in Puttur. The driver of the jeep entered the eating place after parking the jeep, and leaving the important thing in the ignition.


A youngster, employed as a waiter in the lodge, hopped into the jeep and fancied his possibilities with the vehicle. Police said he didn't know using. As he grew to become the important thing and stepped his foot on the accelerator, the jeep moved ahead with nice pace, knocking down the lady and her child, who had been status a couple of metres away. In addition, the jeep also rammed into two vehicles and three bikes.


Locals helped the lady, who escaped with minor injuries. They later gave the waiter a work in their mind and called the police. The lady, who sustained minor injuries on her toe and head, used to be administered first-aid.


Police said the lady didn't want to report a grievance towards the supplier.
