Kannauj soldier dies in J&K gunfight

Kanpur: A pall of gloom descended in Shahjahanpur village in Kannauj on Monday after the news of the dying of soldier Surya Pratap Singh unfold.

Surya (35) of Rajput Regiment was martyred in a fierce gunfight in Jammu and Kashmir’s Kulgam district on Sunday. Bhanu Pratap Singh, younger brother of Surya Pratap, mentioned, “On Monday, we received a telephone name at round 9 am and were advised that Surya Pratap had suffered serious wounds following a gunfight with militants. Later, via another telephone name we were advised that he had sacrificed his lifestyles.”

Surya Pratap, a highschool passout, had joined the Army in 2000. He was posted in Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir, Bhanu mentioned. Surya Pratap got married in 2010 and is survived by way of his wife Ranjana and two youngsters including daughter Siddhi (five) and son Prabal Pratap Singh (3). He had ultimate spoken to his wife on Monday ultimate, mentioned his family members. Bhanu mentioned, “I'm unhappy that I've lost my brother, but I'm proud that he sacrificed his lifestyles for the nation.” ASP Kannauj, Keshav Chandra Goswami, advised NewsTread that the martyr’s body, as per Rajput Regiment officials, is most probably to achieve his local village by way of Tuesday evening.
