Jhansi: Official arrested for forging DM’s signature


JHANSI: Police on Tuesday arrested Jhansi district provide officer (DSO) for allegedly forging signature of the district magistrate to supply advantage to a businessman who runs a petrol pump.

Earlier, performing on a criticism by means of the DM, the police had lodged an FIR towards the DSO and two other officials of the district provide place of business besides the businessman.

Police said two out of the four accused, including the DSO, were arrested.

The accused businessman, Rajendra Singh Chawla, runs a petrol


pump and had submitted some renewal papers in the provide place of business. Later, it got here to the information of DM Jhansi Shivsahay Awasthi that the accused officials had renewed the license after forging his signatures.


The 3 officials who had signed the record were DSO Anoop Tiwari, clerk of petrol cellular Amit Srivastav and space rationing officer Manoj Kumar.


Manoj Kumar is out of town to attend a training programme. The other two accused officials were on Tuesday summoned to the DM’s camp place of business where they were handed over to the police.


Station officer Nawabad AK Singh said: “We have lodged an FIR towards the four accused under sections 419, 420, 467, 468, 471 of IPC on a criticism moved by means of the DM. Tiwari and Srivastav were arrested and sent for scientific exam after which they'll be sent to prison.”
