Idol theft: Ex-exec of Trichy temple arrested


TRICHY: The idol wing CID police on Tuesday arrested a former government officer of Sri Tharuganeswarar temple in Thirupparaithurai in Trichy in connection with the theft of 3 idols in the temple a number of years in the past.
The Idol wing CID police arrested K Anandkumar Rao, 44 on charges of stealing the idols of deities Chandikeshwarar, Angalamman and Bhoga Sakthiamman when he was once the chief officer of the temple. He was once the mind in the back of the idol theft, said the Idol wing.
