Govt to buy 6k new buses, says housing secy


CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu housing and urban construction secretary S Krishnan on Monday said the state would purchase 6,000 new buses including electric cars for public transportation including in Chennai.

Krishnan said the federal government used to be specializing in making improvements to public transportation. Citing the continued paintings of metro rail, he said, "We have an agreement with KFW, the German agency, to buy 6,000 new buses including electric vehicles." He wired at the need for promoting public transportation.


Krishnan used to be addressing a gathering at the instance of the yearly conference of Tamil Nadu Real Estate Consultants Association.


On the Tamil Nadu Combined Development and Building Rules, 2019, which used to be released on Monday, Krishnan said the new regulations had been drafted after having a look at more than a few reviews regarding construction across the globe.
