Go to accused: Mother tells minor rape survivor


CHANDIGARH: A special courtroom needed to ship a minor survivor of rape to Nari Niketan on Thursday after her mother refused to take her home.


The woman, 14, had earlier wished to move with the accused and claimed that her lifestyles was once beneath danger at home. Her mother, who had reported her missing on July 10, 2018, has now said in the courtroom that “she should pass with the accused’s circle of relatives and stay there for good”. The survivor was once in juvenile home ever since scientific evidence filed in courtroom proved her to be minor.


The prosecution says that the woman eloped from a marketplace together with her boyfriend, who was once arrested on July 27 from Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh, ahead of police additionally recovered her. The defence argued that the woman and the accused had been in a consensual relationship and that the boy was once additionally a minor, despatched to the juvenile home after an ossification (bone remodeling) check verified his age.


Defence lawyer Manjeet Kaur submitted that the minor had recorded in her observation that she had run away with the boy out of will and that she wished to marry him.
