GATE 2019: 180 Kashmiri students appearing in GATE exam airlifted to Jammu in IAF plane


SRINAGAR: Nearly 180 Kashmiri scholars, who're scheduled to write Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) exam in Jammu on Sunday, have been airlifted from right here in a different Indian Air Force (IAF) aircraft on Friday, officials mentioned. "Due to heavy snowfall, the valley was cut off from the rest of world due to closure of national highway and cancellation of flights. In view of above, state authorities in coordination with Indian Air Force arranged an aircraft to airlift the students appearing for GATE examination," one of the officials mentioned.


They mentioned 179 scholars left for Jammu Friday afternoon by means of C-17 airplane from the Srinagar airport.


"All arrangements were made for these students by the authorities of Srinagar airport," the authentic added.
