Electrical contractors to wait for pending bills


Hubballi: Hubballi-Dharwad Municipal Corporation (HDMC) electric contractors who called off their indefinite protest on Monday night time, have made up our minds to wait till next Monday for his or her calls for to be met prior to occurring strike again. The contractors started their strike on Friday demanding HDMC to transparent their expenses value Rs. 6 crore for streetlight upkeep and other works. HDMC officers and elected representatives satisfied them to call of the protest and resume work on Monday.

Electrical contractors’ association president Vishwanath Hiregoudar, who met with officers on Tuesday, stated he used to be confident that at least half of the pending expenses could be cleared by way of Monday. “If not, we will be able to forestall on going works from Tuesday and protest,” he stated. Mayor Sudhir Saraf stated he had requested officers to transparent upkeep expenses on precedence. About Rs 70 lakh is pending with HDMC towards upkeep, which might be cleared in part after Monday, he stated.
