Dhananjay Desai’s men booked for procession

PUNE: The Yerawada police have filed a case against a minimum of 150 participants and supporters of Hindu Rashtra Sena (HRS) chief Dhananjay Desai for illegally casting off a procession on his unlock on bail from Yerawada prison on Saturday afternoon.

The Bombay top court lately granted conditional bail to Desai, almost 5 years after he used to be arrested on June 10, 2014, in connection with techie Mohsin Shaikh’s murder on June 2, 2014 all the way through the riots that broke out in Hadapsar over an objectionable post on the social media.

“The case has been registered against Desai’s supporters and not against him as he used to be in prison and did not organise the procession,” senior inspector Dinkar Mohite informed TOI.

Mohite mentioned, “Desai’s buddies, fans and supporters had amassed in front of the prison round 12.30pm on Saturday in anticipation of his unlock. The fans waved saffron flags and then took the procession in opposition to the city.”
