Demand to hire local earthmovers in Seabird Project

Karwar: The firms engaged in wearing out work on the second segment of Seabird Naval Base Project in Karwar should hire earthmovers from local folks, said Karwar–Ankola Earth Movers Association.

President of the affiliation Vinod Ulvekar alleged that handiest outsiders, especially North Indians, are given contract for Seabird mission and locals are completely ignored. He said that local earthmover and truck house owners are hit exhausting by the ban on sand extraction in Karwar taluk.

“In Kerala, it's mandatory for corporations to provide part of a selected work to local folks and hire apparatus and human resources from the realm. If Kerala may have this sort of law, why not Karnataka?” requested Ulvekar

He demanded intervention of the local MP and MLA in the topic.
