Bizmen fume as power tariff not reduced

Ludhiana: City industrialists are up in palms in opposition to the state government for failing to scale back the ability tariff. According to them, the according to unit rate being charged by the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) for small and medium supply commercial meters is approximately Rs Eight-Nine, whereas the state government has been claiming that handiest Rs five rate is being charged.

Businessmen are of the opinion that solving the ability fees at Rs five according to unit used to be some of the ballot guarantees of the state government and its leaders should come blank on this regard.

According to Narinder Bhamra, president of Fasteners Manufacturers Association of India, “Industrialists really feel cheated and humiliated for the reason that Congress government had promised to provide energy at Rs five/unit and its been virtually two years in their regime, however not anything has been applied thus far. As a consequence, we're being forced to pay Rs Eight-10 for each unit of energy consumed by our commercial gadgets. It seems that we can be left without a other choice than to hit the streets and protest in opposition to the government to remind it of its guarantees.”

Auto portions producer Amit Manik echoed, “It is beyond doubt that the velocity of energy is double of what used to be promised by the state government and it is costing us Rs Nine-10 according to unit for medium scale meters. We are facing an excessively tricky situation as the rise in energy charges has greater our value of manufacturing. Our handiest demand is that if the government can't fulfil its promise of reducing the velocity of energy to Rs five according to unit, then it should no less than carry again the charges that have been adopted ultimate 12 months.”

Pardeep Wadhawan, senior vice-president of UCPMA, told TOI, “The state government and PSPCL should issue a rationalization on the Rs five according to unit rate of the ability propaganda. They should both admit that they are able to no longer supply energy at this rate or issue a listing of customers who, in keeping with them, are being charged this rate.”
