Bizman accuses retired cop of setting car ablaze


BENGALURU: A town businessman on Tuesday filed a grievance against a retired police sub-inspector, accusing him of atmosphere his automotive ablaze over business competition.
Papanna, a resident of Attur Layout, close to Yelahanka New Town, has accused Byrappa, a retired police sub inspector, of atmosphere his Maruti Omni on fire.



Preliminary probe revealed that Papanna and Byrappa had invested in real property and sustained losses. According to Papanna, Byrappa owed him Rs 1 lakh, however would threaten him whenever he asked for it to be repaid, police quoted the complainant as saying.


Papanna warned Byrappa that he will seek criminal intervention if the latter did not go back the money.


“In the wee hours of Tuesday, the Maruti Omni automotive of Papanna, parked out of doors his area, was once on fire. Papanna suspects Byrappa is in the back of the sabotage. We have summoned Byrappa for questioning and he shall make his observation the next day,” said police.
