Baijayant Panda denied permission to land chopper

BHUBANESWAR: Former Kendrapada MP Baijayant Panda on Wednesday tweeted that his chopper was not allowed to land at Batighara in Kendrapada district in spite of the fact that he had got permission from the landlord of the land the place it was to have landed.

“Odisha finding out from neighbours?” Panda tweeted, referring to West Bengal leader minister Mamata Banerjee’s denial of landing permission to her Uttar Pradesh counterpart Adityanath’s chopper lately.

“My helicopter was averted from landing in Kendrapada. This is BJD’s intimidation, facilitated via the district administration,” he tweeted.

He uploaded a copy of the permission letter the land proprietor had granted to him on his Twitter handle. “No matter, I will be able to move via road,” he added.

The letter denying him permission to land — signed via SP (Kendrapada) Niti Sekhar — has also been uploaded. “The land proprietor got here to the police station and advised us that he by no means gave permission to Panda to land his chopper there. Hence, we issued a letter asking the chief of aviation (Imfa aviation) Himanshu Sekhar Mohapatra to make exchange arrangements,” Sekhar stated.
