Athikadavu-Avinashi work will start by month-end


COIMBATORE: Work at the R1,652-crore Athikadavu- Avinashi water venture, which has been an overly long-standing call for of farmers in the region, would commence through this month-end, said leader minister Edappadi Okay Palaniswami on Wednesday.

Speaking on the inaugural ceremony of the Codissia Industrial Parks at Mopperipalayam and Kallapalayam in Coimbatore on Wednesday, he said: “The tenders for the venture had been referred to as for and can be finalised and the foundation stone for the venture can be laid inside this month-end,” said Palaniswami.

Palaniswami said the pace of labor on two vital building and infrastructure projects in the region can be quickened and they might be finished inside 2020, with a imaginative and prescient to toughen the industrial scene of the district. “To match the growing industry, the land acquisition for the Coimbatore International Airport growth venture has been going down quickly. Also, to profit industrialists and the general public, the tax on gas for flights which might be stationed at evening in the airport has been brought down from 29% to at least one%,” he said.


Palaniswami said heeding to the call for of Pollachi and Coimbatore residents, who had asked to increase the Ukkadam-Aathupaalam flyover as much as the Pollachi-Palakkad Road, the making plans for the venture used to be under growth and soon tenders for the same can be referred to as for, he said. “These two projects can be finished through 2020,” he said.
