94% fall in no. of UP Board students from Nepal, 8 states

Allahabad: The Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Board (UPSEB) has registered a decline of over 94% in the choice of scholars registering from Nepal and eight neighbouring states for sophistication X and XII checks this yr, following tough anti-copying measures adopted by the state govt in 2018. The checks will concurrently start on Thursday.

At least 1.15 lakh scholars had applied from others states in 2017, whilst the number went down to one.12 lakh in 2018 and this yr only 6,300 scholars have registered online for the checks.

In 2018, the Yogi Adityanath govt had taken tough measures to check mass copying in the checks and made it necessary for all Board centres to put in CCTV cameras. The UP Special Task Force (STF) too was once entrusted with the task of tracking the checks, leading to an effective take a look at on mass copying.
