2 elephants found dead on same day


Coimbatore: Hours after forest department officials recovered the carcass of a seven-year-old male elephant from a contour canal in Udumalpet forest vary on Friday, an eight 12 months previous male elephant used to be found lifeless in the canal a short distance away.

Farmers, who noticed the carcass of the elephant in the canal at Vallakondapuram in the Udumalpet vary had informed the officials around 6.30am. A workforce led through forest ranger Dhanabalan rushed to the spot and retrieved it. “With the help of a veterinarian, postmortem used to be performed near the canal and the carcass used to be buried in a nearby space. The explanation for dying is but to be ascertained. We consider it died at another place,” Dhanabalan stated.


The authentic received another telephone call around 4pm in regards to the carcass of another male elephant in the canal. A workforce of officials reached the spot and performed postmortem. The carcass used to be later buried inside the forest. tnn
