Special team to handle cases against call centres


NOIDA: With the arrest of the SHO and a couple of scribes for taking cash from a call centre proprietor to change an FIR, the cases registered against such name centre house owners at Sector 20 police station will now be handed over to a different staff.
“These FIRs will probably be regarded into by means of a different staff which will have the desired expertise to deal with such cases,” SSP Vaibhav Krishna mentioned.

Last yr, an FIR was once lodged against the managers of the call centre—Irvine Infocom Private Limited—in Sector 6. The managers, Pushpendra Chauhan and Anil Verma, have been booked underneath sections 406, 419, 420, 467, 468, 471 of IPC and underneath Section 66 of the IT Act. The case was once filed after the call centre was once raided on a criticism of a Microsoft representative on November 27-28.

“Such persons impersonate themselves to be technical service providers, running via name centres, positioned in India, deceiving victims into believing that their computers or gadgets are infected with unhealthy viruses. But in truth, no such technical service is rendered in any respect, and aren't accredited or performed on behalf of the complainant,” the FIR filed on behalf of Microsoft representative states.


SSP Vaibhav Krishna mentioned on Wednesday that the call centre proprietor had claimed that his centre was once no longer pretend.


“This is matter to investigation,” he mentioned.


Since as many as 20 FIRs had been lodged in several police stations in Gautam Budh Nagar and as many as 277 folks booked for their involvement in name centres, the investigations which can be recently being handled in Sector 20 police station will now be handed over to a different crime staff to review the extent of criminality taken position, the SSP added.
