Robbers loot valuables worth Rs 30L from flat

PATNA: Amid heavy safety bandobast for Republic Day celebrations, four unidentified armed robbers looted money and valuables price Rs 30 lakh from a flat at Lotus Apartment in New Patliputra Colony of Patna on Saturday.

They shared Patna SSP’s reputable mobile phone number on the access sign in of apartment once they have been requested to offer details ahead of being allowed to go into premises by way of personal safety guard named America Yadav.

The incident came about at chartered accountant Ashish Kumar Haldhar’s flat number 301-A, while his spouse Alpana Haldhar and maid Anita have been inside of. Both girls have been saved captive at gunpoint by way of the robbers who searched the whole flat for almost an hour.

Flat owner Ashish mentioned diamond and gold jewellery price at least Rs 25 lakh and more than Rs five lakh money was taken away together with his personal firearm.

"The robbers, with faces covered by mufflers, entered at around 2.30pm after ringing doorbell and stayed inside for almost an hour during which they searched every corner of our bedroom," Ashish mentioned, adding that the robbers did not even peep inside of three different rooms.

"They tied Alpana’s hands at back and kept pointing two pistols on her neck and head. Later they brought a saree from our bedroom and used it to tie her with the sofa in the hall where she was sitting and watching TV when the robbers had rang the bell," he mentioned, adding, that they had also tied palms of the maid and taken her inside the bed room.

Surprisingly, the criminals did not open even some of the four wardrobes which handiest had clothes.

"In fact, the robbers even knew the way to our bedroom where valuables were kept. They left costly watches and electronic items behind," he added.

DSP (legislation and order) Rakesh Kumar mentioned a few suspects have been detained and have been being interrogated however none was arrested yet in connection with the incident.
