Poor sales on Day 6 disappoint traders

PATNA: Traders saw a decline within the choice of shoppers on Day 7 of an 11-day ‘Khadi Festival’ which started at Gyan Bhavan on January 25. At least 40 marketers from different parts of Bihar like Madhubani, Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur, Begusarai, Siwan, Darbhanga, Gopalganj and Jamui in addition to neighbouring states have put up their stalls on the fest which will conclude on February 4.

“Sales on the second and 3rd days had been good, however we witnessed a gentle drop within the choice of visitors after that,” mentioned Abhinav Raj, an entrepreneur from Muzaffarpur.

Khadi pieces like sari, ‘kurta’, dress material, ‘Modi jacket’, ‘dhoti’, carpet, mattress sheet and towel, among others, are to be had on the market at discounted costs. Organic products like chemical-free shampoos, sanitizers, incense sticks, honey, vinegar and tea also are being bought on the fest.

The fest has been organized through the Bihar State Khadi and Village Industries Board, a wing of the industries department, to advertise khadi products.
