Nagpur set to become global city: Nanda Jichkar

NAGPUR: Nagpur will stamp its title as a global town within the close to future, going through the developmental works which are these days on, stated mayor Nanda Jichkar on Saturday.

Speaking after unfurling the tricolour at the Civil Lines place of job of Nagpur Municipal Corporation to mark Republic Day, Jichkar stated implementation of schemes like Swachh Bharat, Amrut Yojna, houses to all, cement roads and metro railway have transformed the city. Various different schemes are also within the pipeline that will change the face of Nagpur for higher, she stated.

Smart town mission is a milestone in Nagpur’s history which is able to deliver it on the world map, she added.

Deputy mayor Deepraj Pardikar, chairman of the standing committee of NMC Virendra Kukreja, leader of the opposition Tanaji Vanve, municipal commissioner Abhijit Bangar, further commissioners Ravindra Thakre, Ram Joshi and Aziz Sheikh, deputy commissioners Rajesh Mohite and Nitin Kapadnis had been present, but even so a large number of corporators and officials.
