Man held with banned currency in Ulhasnagar


ULHASNAGAR: The Vithalwadi police in Ulhasnagar have seized around Rs 20 lakh demonetised currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 in Ulhasnagar and arrested a person who is said to be concerned in the delivery industry.


The arrested accused identified as Laxman Manuja is a resident of C block house in Ulhasnagar and concerned in the delivery industry.


On Thursday night time police sub inspector Shelke and constable through their informer won explicit information about a person sporting demonetised currency notes close to Surya hotel. Based on the knowledge police laid a trap and nabbed suspect Manuja who came into his swift car (MH05- H1179).


The police checked his car and found a bag sporting demonetised currency of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 totalling Rs 20 lakh.


A police reputable stated that the accused has no longer yet disclosed how he used to be going to utilise the scrapped notes adding that he used to be put beneath arrest and extra probe used to be on.
