Lonely journalism student ends life

BENGALURU: A 19-year-old journalism pupil, allegedly depressed over staying by myself and away from her oldsters, dedicated suicide in her paying guest (PG) accommodation on Wednesday.
Sophia Damani, from Mumbai and a pupil of Kristu Jayanti College in Ok Narayanapura, Kothanur, is suspected to have ate up some unidentified drugs.

Sophia, who stayed with a classmate in Nest Girls PG on Ok Narayanapura Main Road, used to be found useless on her mattress via the maid at 4.30pm. Two empty medicine bottles have been found on the flooring. The maid alerted the PG proprietor, who knowledgeable police. Sophia’s oldsters live in Dubai, while her grandparents stay in Mumbai. She used to be underneath treatment for anaemia.

On Wednesday morning, Sophia’s roommate left for school at nine.30am. Sophia advised her that she would stay back. She is suspected to have died round 11am.

CCTV pictures confirmed she hadn’t pop out of the room all the day. “We have recovered two empty bottles and a notebook from the spot. In the e-book she has scribbled a be aware, apologising to her friend for now not joining her for dinner on Sunday night time,” they added.

Police stated Sophia used to be depressed as she felt lonely and away from oldsters. “But we have no idea what precisely led her to take the extraordinary step,” they added.
